Practice makes permanent, not perfect!

Myelination is the physical principle of how your body’s nerve fibers insulate themselves when doing repetitions of positions and movements, (golf swing positions and movements), to become stronger and more efficient! It is in fact the concept of muscle memory!

This is the principle that the Amazing Angle was founded upon. Perfect repetitions done repeatedly “slowly and deliberately”.

“Research reveals that after a habit is strongly rooted in place, which is to say that after a behavior is sufficiently myelinated, that habit will be the most likely behavior to come out of a repertoire of behaviors.”

It’s winter. You can seriously improve your golf swing “INDOORS”

Well, it looks like winter has decided to come early this year! So, what do all of my golfing friends do when playing golf is impossible? Wouldn’t you like to start improving your golf swing indoors?

Seriously, you can improve your golf swing by practicing with the Amazing Angle golf swing training system! When I designed the Amazing Angle for my students, they didn’t quite understand the concept of “slow practice”.

When I was doing my research about how people learn to be great in all activities, from being a chess master, to dancer, to perfecting a musical instrument, to any sports activity, I found that anyone referred to as a genius has been directly influenced by something called “slow practice”.

So, what is “slow practice”? My best explanation, is that any true “genius” has learned to performed their chosen activity in a very basic way! They start by perfecting “pieces” of the activity. Time and patience is an integral part of this process. The whole, total activity is broken into parts. Then, perfect repetitions of each basic part of the activity is performed “slowly and deliberately”, until habituation is achieved. When each small part of the total activity has been mastered, the parts are then “chunked” together, piece by piece, until the total activity is assembled.

Here is my point. How did you learn to make a golf swing? Unless you were born into a family of golf pros who started you out with great concepts and fundamentals, watched you closely to prevent bad habits, and then allowed you to practice until you perfected a functional golf swing, you probably started like me. That would be late in life, without any instruction, with ill fitting equipment.

I think that for most of us who struggle mightily with this game, the deck has been stacked against us. As we all know, it is not an easy game. Unfortunately, when you learn improperly, by just going out to “hit” the ball, you will acquire bad habits that make the game much more difficult, if not impossible.

You work hard! You go to the range to “practice”, but what are you really doing? In my opinion you are habituating the “killer moves” that you learned by default when you started playing the game, that hold back your ability to improve.

The definition of insanity, is to continue to perform an activity, (your golf swing for example), repeatedly, without changing the “positions and movements”, (your practice routine for example), and expecting improvement! I feel your pain, but you are probably not going to get any better this way.

On the other hand, if you are an eternal optimist and believe there is hope for you, the Amazing Angle swing training system is for you!

Practice with a purpose! Start seeing, feeling and habituating efficient positions and movements in your unique golf swing. I thought it was interesting that the great Mr. Arnold Palmer recently stated, ” don’t swing somebody else’s swing, swing your swing”! All the great players in this game, male or female don’t swing alike. They look different! Embrace your uniqueness, but understand that you can’t have “killer moves” in your swing if you want to improve your swing!

If you agree with me start improving now, even though the weather is not cooperating. If you want more information, visit AmazingAngleGolf.com, right now! IMPROVEMENT AWAITS THE BRAVE AND BOLD!
